Worcestershire

Worcestershire combines attractive countryside with unusually useful connections to Birmingham, the Cotswolds and the wider Midlands. The Malvern Hills provide its most dramatic landscape, while the Teme Valley, Vale of Evesham and villages surrounding Worcester offer very different interpretations of country life.

Great Malvern is one of the county’s most appealing centres, with handsome Victorian architecture, good schools and immediate access to the hills. To the west, the Teme Valley around Tenbury Wells has a quieter and more agricultural character, while Broadway and the villages on the southern edge of the county benefit from proximity to the Cotswolds. Worcester itself provides the principal city amenities without dominating the surrounding countryside.

The county suits buyers looking for substantial village houses, smaller estates and equestrian property, particularly where access to Birmingham or the motorway network remains important. Independent education is well represented in and around Worcester and Malvern, while the county’s road connections via the M5 are a significant practical advantage.

Country pubs, farm shops, walking and riding form an important part of the lifestyle, with the Malvern Hills and Worcestershire countryside providing an attractive backdrop.

Worcestershire’s strength is its balance: it can provide genuinely attractive country living without the price or profile of some neighbouring Cotswold locations, while remaining exceptionally practical for the Midlands and reasonably accessible from London.
